I’ve wanted to stay at Loews Hotel 1000 since I first visited the hotel in 2015. They have a beautiful wedding venue on their 4th floor with a cool indoor greenhouse; it was near the top of our list for wedding venues. While we ended up having our wedding at a different Seattle hotel, I was always sad that we didn’t get to stay at Hotel 1000. Their rooms are so beautiful and the whole place just screams luxury!
When I saw a great deal on a stay at Hotel 1000 we decided to do a one-night staycation! Even though we simply stayed in and watched tv on my laptop… it felt so luxurious! I was also surprised because the hotel has done a total remodel since it was purchased by the Loews group in 2016. Luckily, it’s still beautiful!
Our stay at Hotel 1000
While we were originally booked in a room with a king-bed city-view, they upgraded us to a water-view for free when I called and asked. This really improved our experience as we got to see the sunset over the Puget Sound! The room itself is really elegant and felt very open for less than 400 sq/ft. There is a nice seating area near the window where we ate breakfast and dinner.
The Beds
The beds are so cozy! I probably say this about every luxury hotel, but oh man, the bedding is a dream! I have a mild allergy to down bedding, but always put up with it when staying in hotels because it feels so great! That said, if you have a more severe allergy, the hotel staff can easily change out the bedding to a hypoallergenic option.
The Staff
The staff were really top-notch. We felt very attended to by the front-desk staff who recognized us when we returned from a walk to the waterfront and an early morning trip to Pike Place Market. They were very welcoming and happy to provide suggestions when we asked.
The Style
The whole hotel just has a really beautiful design. The rooms have a really beautiful watercolor mural behind the bed, and the lobby has similarly lovely décor with a Seattle-inspired raindrop light installation. This place is classy and just so lovely!
The Location
Location, Location, Location! Location might not matter if you’re just planning to stay in during the pandemic, but when traveling during normal times, this location cannot be beat! 2 blocks to the waterfront, 5 blocks to the market, 4 blocks to Pioneer Square… it’s the perfect central location for whatever you’re doing while visiting downtown Seattle.
The Bathroom
I’m a sucker for a luxury bathroom, and I loved this! There is an oversized soaking tub and a separate walk-in shower. The tub is filled from the ceiling which is cool, but also a little weird. While 6’3 Garrett could not lay down completely, 5’4 me was just fine! There is a privacy screen to close off the bathroom from the bedroom.
Things to know about Hotel 1000
- The valet is in a lot under the building so there is no self-parking. Luckily, there is 24-hour in/out access and they can even grab something from your car if you forget to grab it. When you arrive to check-in just pull up right in front of the hotel and the valet will take care of you. You’ll want to approach from the South so you can pull right in. Valet costs are $45/night + tax.
- I loved reading about the inspiration for the hotel remodel. It’s all inspired by Seattle and mixes the industrial with the the outdoors. Check out Hotel 1000’s blog to read all about the Settle-centric design!
- In general, Covid restrictions made us feel pretty safe. Everyone was wearing a mask at all times, the hotel seemed fairly empty, and high-touch objects had been removed from the room.
- Because of Covid restrictions, the hotel restaurant was only open for breakfast. We got our morning meal delivered to the room, and definitely enjoyed! We look forward to visiting again when we can check out dinner at their All Water Seafood & Oyster Bar.
