I went on a walk yesterday with an old friend and she asked me what my favorite Disney theme park is. Easy answer! Tokyo DisneySea! I told her I would send her a post with some of my favorite pics, and realized I didn’t really have anything like that on the blog… so… here you go!
Tokyo DisneySea was honestly a bit overwhelming – even for Disney pros like us. Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are both a lot more crowded than the other Disney parks we’ve been to, but once you get used to it, it’s really not that bad. The lines are long, but you have to just expect that and set your expectations accordingly.
Tokyo DisneySea is organized into several “ports of call”. We were lucky to stay in the beautiful Miracosta hotel which looks out into DisneySea, which means that the first waterway we saw was the canals of Venice. We haven’t been to Venice yet so this was a cool experience for us!
Another major waterway in DisneySea that you can’t miss is the area around Mount Prometheus. Not only is the mountain a great view from afar, but once you enter the Mysterious Island area there is even more to see!
In addition to the ports of call, DisneySea has several beautiful areas that are totally unique to the park. We were lucky to get to Agrabah’s Marketplace when it was totally abandoned. We got great pictures!
One of the best parts of visiting any Disney park is the food; this was especially true in DisneySea where the food is so different from the American parks we’re used to.
Some other major landmarks in DisneySea are Indiana Jones: Adventure of the Crystal Skull and the Tower of Terror. While the Indiana Jones Ride is pretty similar to its US counterpart, Tokyo’s Tower of Terror introduces a totally unique story that is different from anywhere else in the world.
Overall, we had an awesome time in Tokyo DisneySea, and we can’t wait to go back!
